Re: Auditioning for 2017
Interesting to hear they are changing the first round. I will keep my eye on that.
Dd has been struggling with injury/hypermobility recently so the very dancy courses may end up not being for her. She is academic & wants to do A levels for a couple of years. MT is what she wants to do.
Me, I wish she'd study law or politics or something!

GSA is lovely and the Surrey Uni campus is excellent. It is a real luxury to have onsite accommodation too. The issues about grades etc with GSA are totally out of their hands. It is all governed by the uni. I'm sure given the choice they would offer a little a little more flexibility with grades but they have to work with the remit they are given.
They are very clear about this and if people think it's worth a shot anyway, go for it !!! I don't see it as them taking money, people choosing to audition are giving it to them and obviously think it's worth a shot.

Just spoken to the admissions officer at Trinity Laban and she's just said that they hope you have the MT offers entered into UCAS by the of the week!
Thanks for that- My DD had her audition over three weeks ago and was told results in two. I was beginning to wonder what was happening!

Re GSA BA MT, dd has 2 friends (both boys) who have been offered / accepted places in the last 2 years from BTec courses. Plus one who did A levels and definitely didn't get the grades but was accepted. So A level isn't the only option. All were really talented.
Dd has a recall on Saturday, she is applying post A level and has ABB, that was the requirement last year, this year it states AAB, I would be amazed and disappointed if she was rejected on the basis of her A level grades, but have to accept rejection on any other standard is just par for the course.
I'm pretty sure if she was applying for Biological Sciences and dropped a grade on her offer she'd be in. Sometimes I wish she was!!

I agree with Oscar. We all know that the chance is very very slim because we know the grade situation at GSA so if you apply knowing this you're paying for the slight chance that your DC might get in. I've done that with my DS this year. He's got a Recall. He's probably got a 1% chance but we're still going to tryoscar wrote:GSA is lovely and the Surrey Uni campus is excellent. My DS has a Recall too later in April and he hasn't got the grades. Good luck to your DD Soda. May the odds be for ever in their favoursoda wrote:Re GSA BA MT, dd has 2 friends (both boys) who have been offered / accepted places in the last 2 years from BTec courses.
