They offer a scholarship for an exceptional student but this is usually announced at the end of year show for a current student the following year...may be email and ask..as I think they may offer other ones
Good luck xx

Thanks Jasmine2. I will wait and see if she is lucky enough to be offered a DADA and if she is I will ring and ask about a possible scholarship instead. If she isn't offered a DADA then it's probably not worth it. Thankyou x

Thanks x

Hi BarrySue. Another thought is that for millennium over the 3 years you'll be topping up the fees by £3k a year, which is the same as the foundation, Nd that might lead to full funding when applying the following year. Just a thought as that's the way we're are currently looking at the Bird foundation (But added to that our DD really wants to do her degree at Bird)

Hey, congratulations! Maybe our DDs will be together at Millennium!! We chose the degree over the diploma at Performers, but she did like Performers too. Good luck with the decision making!!

Sherbert wrote:First time posting but Live_thedream your post brought an actual tear to my eye - how lovely - we've just about finished the audition process - how draining (with nerves) it is. My DS was at the Mountview recall last Thursday and was offered foundation - he was over the moon.

I agree totally with your observations - we did Arts Ed but got a no at the first audition - it was a beautiful place - I felt like I knew nothing as we weren't allowed in lol. DS felt he wasn't 'athletic-enough looking' if that makes sense - he felt they definitely have a certain 'look'.

GSA just felt awesome - a no from there too :( DS was sick in the car on the way down #-o although he said he didn't feel it affected his audition

Trinity Laban are still open for applications/auditions so we're gonna give it a go - just to see how an audition goes with no pressure

DS loved Mountview though and has 3 friends there so looks like that's where he's heading for a year anyway...

Good luck and a big hug to your DS - you are so right - his time will come! Xx
That's amazing news Sherbert! Foundation is still good and shows promise. If my DS had been offered it, he would have snapped it up. Thank you for your comments - I do agree with you, my nerves have been shot the last few months, it was so draining. I don't think our kids realise to what degree and how much we invest our minds and souls into this process too as parents. Good luck to your son :D

DDs two friends who left their Uni MT courses did so for the same reason as mentioned by someone else - that they felt the training wasn't enough for what they wanted to achieve. It's the first time I've seen it said on this forum that there are issues with the colleges training to the extent that students leave. But then again transparency isn't the strong point in the MT training industry. It would perhaps be useful to know how many "many" is, was it one or more colleges (names not needed) and what were the reasons? The latter would be especially Interesting, albeit anecdotal.

To the best of my knowledge none of they colleges publish drop out rates as Unis do. But even then I'm not sure that Unis publish drop out rates at a granular enough level to see what the rate is for their MT degrees.

Drop out rates are commented on in Trinity reports.

I've known a few people drop out from colleges but one was very early on (decided that full time training away from home age 16 was not for them after all) & a few others through injury or not making the grade/developing the stamina.

Congratulations to yr DD Barrysue.
My DD is very similar to yours, she has BA offer at Millennium, Diploma place at Performers (waiting to hear about DADA funding) and she has a Diploma place at Bird but is on the reserve list for DADA funding. We have paid to reserve her place at Millennium but are waiting to see if she gets any funding which might give her another option.
