My DS took the decision not to go in the end, after receiving the Trinity Laban offer, he knew financially it would just not be realistic if he were to be offered a place, but grateful to have been recalled.

Student finance all applied for and approved this week so it’s all becoming real now! :( :)

Just the GSA wait........................................... ](*,)
Yes my DD didn't even apply to Mountview due to the cost. We just had to be realistic even though it sounds like a great course. Can you apply for student finance before you know where you are going then? Or have you applied with trinity in mind then can change if GSA comes through?
Hi Robin64! Yes he was able to accept Trinity as it is on the Conservatoire application, and apply for his finance. When applying it says you can change the place of study at a later date (if for example he was lucky enough and wanted to change to GSA.)
I was just conscious of getting it all in place before end of May so as not to hold up his application.

Yes that’s right, it’s best to get it in place ASAP as Ive heard so many people with stories of it being delayed etc due to late applications, and I’m not in a position to be able to fund things until it comes through.
I’m also a worrier and knowing it’s sorted helps my peace of mind! :(

Thanks for the best wishes everyone. Sadly DS didn't get through to boys Mountview recall today - he said there were some incredible singers there and around 80 boys in that one session so hard to get noticed. Never mind, still Laine to go and the offers he already has.

Oh what a shame! So much harder again when it’s an all boys group, as you say ‘to get noticed’ :( keep positive though x ;)

My sons 3 pals are there today too

We went down to watch my son in the mountview foundation showcase on Wednesday - wow! I was so impressed with them all - I can’t imagine why a lot of them didn’t get recalled :(

Glad you’re getting all sorted candafitt x
I need to get on to the student finance website soon lol x

Sending big hugs to you and your daughter rhythmanddreams xx
Glad you are getting things sorted Candafitt :)

Sherbert - sometimes even the best don't get through if it's not their year and you still have GSA :)

Seems like MV have had lots of boys this year (considering they only have what 36 places(?) and half of them for boys, it's so difficult,
but as you say at least your DS is in a good place already. Still waiting to hear how my son's friends got on (2 from his college were there).

rhythmanddreams wrote:Bad news on our front I am afraid. DD was supposed to be auditioning for Chichester this coming weekend (following her cancelled audition a few weeks back due to the weather) but she is ill :( . Ulcerated tonsils, can barely speak let alone sing and feeling very unwell in general, and has been like it since last Friday with no improvement. Has been to the doctor where they have taken swabs but results not due in until this Friday, and she has decided not to attend her audition as she knows she cannot remotely do her best whilst feeling like this. Looks like game over for us this year, and it will be a year out and further training, as we are all out of options and ideas and time is definitely running out for Sept 2018 entry (certainly for anything with a funded place)!
Am very cross about the cancelled first audition (when she was in 100% health) and sad for her that it isn't working out as she hoped.

best of luck to all of you who are still waiting to hear from recent auditions xxx
So sorry to hear that and such horrible timing. I hope she is on the mend and Chichester are able to offer a special audition when she is well enough x

True :) I honestly couldn’t find fault with one of them - they were all outstanding x college panels must have to be so so picky to find anything wrong with anyone at this stage

I’m going to get our student finance applied for tonight for Trinity - glad to be getting my son home this Sunday until September - I’ve really missed him x

When is your Son at Central? My sons friend has had a recall for Central which is a massive achievement apparently as it’s a really hard one to get into x

Thanks for asking. Urdang degree with top up funding (needs CCC grades), GSA degree (but needs AAB grades!), London Studio Centre degree and waiting to see if they offer any help with funding, Laine he has a place but we can't afford the enormous fees so he needs to do well at the funding recall next week. So he will be going somewhere, just not sure where!

Ah I bet you have missed him but also so much to look forward to.
My son was at Central on Monday and got recalled through to the afternoon for MT :) As great as that was, we are very well aware that getting through to the next stage is going to be tough (only 9 places for boys and 9 for girls). Will just play the waiting game  . His friends who auditioned before him are still waiting to hear too. I think they confirm in batches.
