Re: Auditioning for SEPT 2018
Hi All. First post here but have found following everything very helpful to date. Does anyone have DDs waiting for results from LSC recall? My DD was there on the 6th April but I am surprised that we haven't heard anything yet.

Re: Auditioning for SEPT 2018
Hi -
I'm, a bit late to this conversation but my daughter is 16 and about to do her GCSE's. She was going to wait until she was 18 to go away to college and apply for A levels & btecs locally but on the advice of one of her dance teachers and also feedback from a college she decided to apply for several colleges this year and she got offers with scholarships from 3 of them. She did limit herself a bit as she wanted a smaller college or school based environment rather than one of the big London ones. She didn't like Tring and we couldn't afford Arts Ed 6th forms so all the other places she applied were Midlands or Northern based. She has accepted a dada funded place at The Hammond for September which is great for us financially and probably will work out betterfor us than if she'd waited until age 18 to apply to places like Arts Ed.
I may very well be going through all this again in a few years time with ds but he is a singer/actor whereas dd is a dancer/singer.

Hi
My DD also 16. I am a bit worried about her not doing A levels. I seem to be worrying more than she is. What if she goes to college and doesn't like it? Doesn't like the teachers, other students the lessons? What if she hates the journey? (train when she can only walk round to her school) I suppose she knows what she wants to do, but I cant stop the worry! What is a level 6, 3 year diploma equivilent to? Would she be able to go to a Uni later on with this qualification if she wanted to? Sorry too many questions! xx

My daughter will be doing 2 A levels as well as her diploma but it was explained to us that a Level 6 diploma is equivalent to a degree just without the dissertation part. So after the three years you can do a 1 year top up to a full degree.

DS and friend were both there on 9th April. They both seemed to think they were told May for a letter/email!MWilks wrote:Hi All. Thinking of her today and wishing her all the best xxNickyh wrote:It’s great to see how everyone seems to be in favour of foundation courses this year as very often I have read how much it’s a waste of money etc. My daughter was accepted on the foundation course last year at MV for the acting course. She originally applied for MT but was offered a free audition for the BA acting and then offered the foundation. This was her first year of auditioning at 18 years old. The course has been incredible. It was a huge move for her from Wales to London. She is now more than ready for the BA. She has loved the acting training and wants to continue with this not MT. She has been fortunate enough to get a BA recall at the end of April and fingers crossed she will be lucky. I cannot recommend a foundation course enough. It more than prepares our dc’s for auditions and for the the degree course. Good luck to everyone’s dc x

Dada confirmed for my dd at Bird today
Known it was offered for a while but wanted to wait for the official letter once they had checked our income.
Will be coming off the reserve list at performers and won't be attending recalls at Madd and Bodywork.
Well done to everyone who has secured a place so far and good luck to those still waiting.xx

I’ll be glad when it’s all over to be honest so we know exactly what we’re doing
