Very sadly after 6 weeks of waiting we had a letter today telling us that Laine cannot offer my DD a Dada, this was after I was told verbally last week that she was on the reserve list. I understand how difficult it must be for these colleges to make decisions on who to award funding to, what I can't understand is the 6 week wait. It has been torture with promises of news every week for 3 weeks.
She is desperate to accept the place on a self funding basis so now we need to explore any other avenue we can find for help with the fees. 8-[

It is so tough and I'm sorry for your daughter

Hesse colleges have to follow really tough criteria when awarding DADA's. They MUST on,y award them to the people who 'are most likely to succeed inthe industry' which means only those who score the highest marks in the audition process. A few colleges tell everyone who has a diploma place that they are on the reserve as, I suppose, technically they are if those above them who have funding don't take up theirs offer,

Many tell those with ,multiple offers that they have a deadline to confirm their place, so presumable everyone above your DD has accepted their offers therefore meaning theirs no money left in the pot for others.

Good luck with finding the funding.

Really sorry to hear this em2512 x does your DD have any other funded offers? Goodluck with the funding x We did crowdfunder when we were looking at trinity foundation and it worked really well. We however decided to try for The Hammond and refunded all donations x

That’s such a tough thing.
It does seem unfair to keep you waiting. Lots of duplicate letter came out today From laine so I suspect there was some error.

Funding is tough. My eldest is self funding. We don’t really want to crowd fund but have had a small grant from a local theatre company for uniform and a waffle prize donated for Matilda tickets which has caused a few hundred pounds.
Good luck with it . My youngest would have re auditioned next year if she hadn’t have got the offer of funding from Bird.

Well done to Laurellen (both girls!) and bro1234 and commiserations to em2512.

Glad things are moving though it will be wonderful news for some and not so for others.
We too got an identical letter from Laine - #2 on boys reserve. I suspect a few people hadn't received them but they weren't sure who. I think it is a complete reprint after some kind of admin error and they are finally sorting their lists out.

Scarytimes, I hope you hears something very soon.

Em2512 so sorry you received a negative letter. I hope you can find another way around things. Its so hard the waiting, then to be given that result is devastating. Hugs xx

That's devastating, I'm so sorry to read this, It's so hard to get an offer but to know it now is up to you to fund or say dd can't go is just awful. You could try a funding page, or there is a development career loan you can get if your 18. I hope your able to find a way to fund, best of luck x

It’s horrible , My dd was in same position last year no funding for Laine her dream college , She was on reserve list for bird BA , Then thankfully she got the call from bird on 23 rd June ! She was very lucky . I think we were going to look into the career development loan for Laine I made the call but you can’t apply until 3 weeks before the course starts and if she was refused the loan , we would of no way been able to afford the fees and accommodation!
To everyone else waiting on reserve lists hang on in there as like I said we found out on June 23 rd for bird and my daughter was on top part of the list !
Also anyone requiring a room My dd and her flat mate have a spare room going if anyone interested message me and I will pass your details on !
Lots of luck all x

Well done to those that have now been offered places. It is such a stressful time.

If anyone is looking for accommodation for Bird my DD and two friends have reserved a 4 double bedroom flat 7 minute walk from the college (on the High Street) with a lounge, 2 bathrooms and kitchen for next training year. I believe it equates to about £115 a week per person (alot cheaper than Avery at about £150 a week and more central). They need a 4th person to live with them if anyone is interested. We have some photos of the flat and the landlord seems lovely.

Oh and the girls are all great too ha ha

This has gone eerily quiet! I’m guessing that all auditions are done and all initial yes/no/reserve results are out now.

Wishing all the best to the A level students over the next two weeks, good news to those on waiting lists and patience for those who will have to wait until A level results day to know where they are going.

All DD's A level exams are done, along with auditions and funding auditions, now just a wait for results, funding offers and reserve lists. I'm sure there're lots in the same boat as us, fingers crossed for us all. xx
