For those waiting to hear from Laine - with the email going out about Dada's and reserve lists surely you would have heard if you have a place by now ?

That’s what’s confusing me. We still haven’t heard from Laine? She not on any reserve list. We are literally waiting to see if it’s a yes or a no. I just don’t understand the process

I don’t know too much about Laine (couldn’t afford the Top up fees so didn’t even go there lol) But maybe it’s worth contacting them and just say you have heard from a lot of people that this email went out but you didn’t receive one, have you been missed?

We are still waiting to hear from Laine too and from looking through earlier posts in the thread there may also be 1 or 2 others? The email sent in March about the cancellation of the funding audition did say May so we may just have to hold our breath for a week or so longer.

All very strange about Laine - good luck trying to get an answer - Sarah Caroll is not answering emails at all - she sent the email about funding to 66 people all of whom everyone else could see and I've messaged her twice in the last 10 days and zero response or acknowledgment - same thing back in February - surely if all the lists are done re Dadas then they have their intake list compiled too - they have been the worse college for dealing with - have found them most inefficient when it gives off a totally different impression at the audition day.

Performers aren't all done either. We have yet to hear re DADA. I emailed last week and was told that they have to adhere to guidelines and the process can take some time. I think colleges are in a very difficult position at the moment because of the current situation and some decisions may take longer than normal. I'm going to wait till Friday then contact them.
Dd has had 2 funded offers elsewhere, one which we have turned down and another which we are holding on to for now. Laine is her 1st choice.

I emailed Laine bird and arts last Friday to see what was happening, I doubt I’ll get a response after hearing others are struggling too. Surely if they have offered 66, then there are no more places and we should be sent a curtesy email telling us so

Sorry the 66 were emailed saying they didn't make the reserve list for the Dadas - it just said the shortlist for the dada funding was decided and that they could still take their place and pay full fees of course or defer the application until next year - it also said the LTA bursary assistance is no longer available - it said I hope you may consider deferring your application to next year but gave no further details on what that actually meant. Your best bet to get a reply is to say you have an urgent request in the email and ask her to call you back - how you can hold a Dada place either I don't know - my daughter got one for Performers but I only had a week to accept and thus why I needed a reply from Laine and that was the only time I got a response from them.

Also Performers can tell you if you are going to be considered for one or not - I asked and was told that my daughter would be so at least I knew either way for anyone waiting to hear from there.

Not sure if it helps, but we cannot fault our experience with ArtsEd, however, it sounds like this isn't the same for everyone. My DS auditioned via submission of videos during lockdown after having his face to face audition cancelled. He was then asked to attend a Skype meeting third week in April and just under a week later he had his offer which he accepted and we paid the deposit of £350 which I understand is refundable up until a certain date. He received an email through last week to say he should hear by 1st June re: DADA etc.

Big congratulations to your DS!!
My dd sent an audition video in slightly less than 3 weeks ago but hasn’t heard anything . I assume that the Skype interview is for those who are shortlisted?
Can you remember how long after the video submission until he had the Skype interview?

I can remember filming the audition tapes for him as it was the day after lockdown and I begged a favour from a local hotel who had a dance studio,so that would have been 24th March and from memory, he submitted them the same week. His Skype interview was four weeks later. Hope this helps.

Very nice to have closure on the audition process now and super proud of her, she went into it praying she would get something from somewhere so is over the moon to have come out with 5 offers, definitely a confidence boost.
Where did your DD audition if you don’t mind me asking?

Dd auditioned for Performers, Urdang, Wilkes, GSA, LIPA, Tiffany’s, Italia Conti and Laine (an odd mix!)

Many thanks for your reply . Does the Skype interview involve being asked to do any more singing or dancing or is it a standard interview ?
