Bird have a track system too - I might not get this exactly right but I think my daughter said it’s either a dance or MT focus and that the college put you on the track they think you are best suited to. You don’t really get to choose generally speaking but if you had very strong feelings or were unhappy with your track then you can discuss it with them.

Thanks Grace03
I hadn’t realised that Bird did the tracking system too.

Hi I may be able to shed some light on this - DD has been offered degree at Bird and was told on the open day that they are set on one of three tracks after the first week or so: one with a heavier dance focus, one with and actor/singer focus and one balanced triple threat endorsement. DD was told most people are on the triple threat strand as the other two are mainly for those with a very predominant strength.

Either way both schools are a wonderful fit and I'm sure they would love both.

Also- does anyone know when Laine send out results? DD had her interview on Tuesday and is anxiously waiting! Unfortunately like a lot of people we would need funding but she's keen to know either way.

Thanks for the info dancemum09.
Like you, my DD waiting for Laine result. She had her interview on Tuesday too. We would also need funding.
DD had been offered degree at Urdang and is on Bird reserve list. She’s got a recall from arts ed and waiting EDA outcome.
It seems from what people are saying, both Urdang and Bird are good for triple threat.
It’s so hard not actually being able to visit places to get a feel.

DS had his Laine audition on Thursday. Apparently they sort out the definite no's and the possibles and then Betty Laine handpicks who she wants from the possibles. DS was told 2-3 weeks. He's waiting to hear from Italia Conti after his recall which was nearly 2 weeks ago and his final audition with Performers is next Saturday. Then the worst part.... Decisions!!!! He's already got an offer from Bird but if he gets more than one he won't know what to do. Decision making is really not his forte!!

I’m a nervous wreck at the moment waiting on replies. DD had her audition on Tues at Laines too and her interview. I’m calculating that we’ve got another week to 10 days to hear from Bird, Masters and Performers as all audition tapes were submitted on the 15th. It panics me to see all the offers being listed on the various stories of these schools on Instagram so I’ve had to turn them off ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)!! We are also waiting for a date for the Urdang recall which I’m sure will be in person due to the restrictions being lifted. I know I’ll feel much better for her to have at least 1 confirmed degree/diploma offer [-o< [-o<

It's certainly getting to nail biting times! DD had Laine chat on Monday (at least that's how she described it!) and also said about three weeks was mentioned. But we don't know if definite "no"s hear before then? Or what is happening about funding recalls. Betty Laine will always have the last say I'm sure! Then they've got the next large group to interview and audition. We would also need funding. DD really not sure at the moment as it's not a degree and very pricey. She's had Degree offers from both Urdang and Trinity Laban now, recalls from GSA, Arts Ed and Royal Welsh. And waiting on EDA recall result from three weeks ago. We just tried a few to see what might happen. DD loves EDA and loves Laine. Still doesn't know though if she wants a more dance based or singing/acting based college. She's very lucky to have bagged two affordable offers already. Keep sane everyone! It's not easy, is it!!!!

Amo185, your daughter has done exceptionally well \:D/ =D> \:D/ !!! DD has watched many of Laine’s summer shows and has loved them since she was little. We would absolutely need funding for our DD to go. One blessing is that she could live at home if she got in with a DADA, so we wouldn’t have to worry about accommodation. Roll on the next few weeks :-({|= . Fingers, toes and everything crossed for all of our DC who’ve worked so hard.

Keep the faith Anastasia79!! DS has one advantage over your DD - he's a boy and there are fewer boys. When he had his Bird online thingy I counted 3 boys and about 40 girls, so it's much tougher out there for the girls. If she's good enough for at least one recall I'm sure you'll have some good news soon!!! Fingers crossed for next week

Thank you, that gives me a little hope. For your DS Bird offer, was this by email or letter in the post? Yes, definitely fingers crossed for next week.

Thanks Louisedunn, yes he's been lucky. He's also had a rejection from Mountview! I guess your DD must have been at the same recall on Tuesday 15th? DS said there were 14 of them.... And 7 people watching them which is pretty nerve-wracking. Anastasia79 I know!!! He wouldn't forward me the email and I almost had to beg just to read it 😂. Hopefully today is the last day of audition prep, just the jazz exercises for Performers to do (audition is next Saturday 6th). Then the waiting....... Good luck 🤞🤞and keep posting your news!!

Quick question . Those who have had auditions for Italia Conti how long did it take to find out if DS or DD had a recall or not please ? Thank you 😊
