Re waiting for Laine - DD hasn't heard either and neither has anyone else on her group chats (excluding a lucky few who have been phoned!) - I must say I'm so grateful they can all talk to each other about waiting etc - most of DD's 'auditioning' friends at school are applying for straight acting so it's nice she has people to talk to. If anyone does hear from Laine re a result or just asking how long until things are posted then I'd love to know - but I appreciate we are all waiting!

....so it is good to know most are in the same boat though and just (impatiently) waiting.

Does anyone have any DCs at Masters Performing Arts? I’d love some feedback (good, bad, in between) for my DD who is considering them on the recommendation of her jazz teacher.

We have an offer there with part funding but it is their own diploma (not trinity) which probably makes no difference but we will look into it more. As other options so far are degree.
All I know is it is on a small industrial estate as we visited once and did a girls day. Other than that we don't know much either.

MTDreams, Bird I’ve heard only make offers to approx 25% of auditionees initially during the entire audition season. The rest who they like are placed on their reserve list. My DD is on the reserve list. Your daughter will be absolutely fine putting in her audition material for a later audition date. For Urdang they are still giving offers and recalls. My DD is also on their recall list. I think your DD will be open to receiving offers from Urdang up until their last audition date so don’t feel disheartened.

Ahh thank you! Thats great to hear. I think I am worrying more than her! She was on the reserve for the degree at Bird last year but went to GSA on their foundation. I feel she is doing everything much later this year, but she feels better prepared so I guess that is a bonus!

Hi she did like it, but it's a lot smaller than other colleges so it depends on personal preference that way. If honest it's not in the nicest location...but then I find lots of them aren't so that is just one of those things. She had a zoom interview and said they were very nice and mentioned not overlooking them just because of finance ( the subsequent offer is roughly 50% funded)....in the paperwork it does mention a deadline and subsequent penalty after x amount of days so we do need to discuss ...I think there is a liability for fees if you later decline so it does need reading properly. Deposit is £275 I believe.

DD got an offer a week ago now, got a phone call almost exactly two weeks after her audition (she had her interview on the first day of auditions), got some really lovely feedback from admin and Miss Laine, saying they thought Laine would be perfect for her. She was offered a full dada aswell which she is over the moon about, not too sure what getting a phone call instead of a letter means? I don’t believe anyone has recieved their official letter as we haven’t

That's great news for your DD. Well done to her!
We don't know any others that have auditioned for Laine yet apart from you lovely people on here. And diploma prob rules it out as we would not be eligible for a dada....but would be nice to have all the offers on or off the table before we sit and discuss pros/cons and finances.

It’s a difficult choice but we know she’s in a lucky position and she feels very grateful to know she has a place to go to.

Sounds like Laine has offered places to their top applicants (those who will definitely get funding). Maybe others will get offers but no funding or offers and a waiting list for funding. Or rejections of course. They still have half of their applicants to audition. Full DADAs usually depend on parental income - but Betty does offer top ups and her own scholarships. Hope the waiting isn't too long! Fantastic for those who have heard already. Well done to your DC!

Yes and I believe they have a lot less places to offer too than the larger college such as Urdang, Performers and Bird..... we will have to wait and see....

Amazing news - congratulations!!! In terms of accommodation it might be better to make a decision sooner rather than later, but really difficult without having been to the colleges to know what is right! I liked them both. Fab news for your DD and you must be so relieved!
