We noticed that there was no "acceptance form" along with DD's offer - just the DADA declaration form. So we also think that they don't know yet how many students will accept their place as for many people it depends on funding. Do hope you hear sth positive soon! Waiting is horrible.

Maybe ...we had ticked the ineligible for dada box on the online form anyway.

For information for those awaiting Laine result:
When my DD auditioned for Laine 3 weeks ago she had a problem uploading her videos. They informed her that they couldn’t view them properly.
She re-submitted and emailed twice asking them to confirm they had received them okay. She didn’t hear back and then had her interview so assumed all was fine.
However - she received an email today asking her to re-submit the videos as they couldn’t be viewed!
My understanding was that they had the interview and then watched their video the same day. This is what they said the format of the audition would be.
Has anyone else had an issue?
I can’t understand why they didn’t contact her 3 weeks ago if they watch the videos straight after the interviews.

That’s really tough to hear! The positive news is that she will be able to resubmit her videos and they can be watched. After this stress that you’ve both been through with this, I’m hoping she’ll have a positive result.

Thank goodness Laine acted. We did find it rather odd that Laine interviewed BEFORE watching the tapes. Seemed the wrong order. They couldn't refer to the audition material. Hope Moonfaery you get an offer soon.

That's good they have finally realised....if a little late! It does seem to be very random admin procedure and strange to interview before the videos.
I also understood they watched them that afternoon too.

My dd is in first year at Wilkes and loves it, chose to go there from Pre-Voc at Performers (was offered degree at Performers). Class sizes is difficult as it hasn’t been a normal year but she said they have 80 on degree and 60 on diploma (first year of degree so other years smaller) but they don’t mix, would guess there are around 20 per class?
They have 1-2-1 singing weekly or fortnightly with group singing every week, this was one of the big pulls over Performers as they don’t have 1-2-1 in first year. And accommodation situation is fab, they have a company who sort it all for you, you fill out a form saying who you want to live with etc and find you a property, much easier than Performers free for all. Accommodation is not within walking distance but college encourage car shares and get the non drivers to pay a small fee towards fuel costs etc, my daughter picks up (well she did before covid went loopy) two 16yr olds on the diploma course each day which gives my dd a bit of money towards petrol and saves them a fortune on bus fares.
Really couldn’t recommend Wilkes more, they are extremely friendly and still small compared to some of the colleges now.

I hear Wilkes are now operating a wait list, our friend had waited a month and hadn't heard so she contacted them. They have emailed back with a wait list place and will find out the end of April! Another friend at the same time has had an offer though.
Although I must say it does seem to vary how long it takes, we were lucky heard very quickly...

Yes they don't give you very long we have paid the deposit but not accepted on UCAS yet, so we accept we may end up losing the £200 if we decide to not go there at a later date. I guess it's a holding deposit but Performers don't charge anything.Urdang is £100.

It's a lovely time of year this, hearing about all the offers that have come through. Well done everyone and fingers crossed if you're still waiting. It's a tough time! DD has been on the pre-voc at Performers, which I have to say, turned out to be an excellent choice for her, having turned down a degree offer elsewhere that she wasn't 100% about, partly due to Covid and partly because she wanted to go into a degree feeling stronger.
Performers has worked some magic because she's heard that she's got a recall for Artsed, hoorah! The recall will be after the easter break and she's waiting for them to confirm her session, whereupon she'll apparently get the recall requirements. She's very impatient as this all only happened yesterday and she's desperate to know what they will be! I said I'd ask here....Does anyone know?

The recall for ArtsEd is the two songs from your first round, a contemporary monologue and a classical monologue from their set speech list and an interview.

Regarding Wilkes:
If you choose not to pay the £200 deposit they don’t take away your degree offer (I don’t think they’re allowed to do that as the offer is through ucas).
The £200 is more in relation for the things they offer in addition to the degree.
They are very helpful so please do ring or email them to clarify this but it is definitely what we have been told.
Hope that helps
