Thank you.
She really enjoyed the Conti audition, the panel were very friendly and during the interview offered some really valuable feedback on her songs. She was asked to do both monologues and both songs. Fingers are crossed for a swift response!

My daughter has had a recall at Conti today. Any idea when she’s likely to hear the outcome?

I know some are waiting for GSA, we have just heard that she has a recall in 2 weeks. She submitted tapes on 25th January, they must be starting to sort through them.

My dd got offered diploma last year exactly 2 weeks after and degree this year 13 days after. Good luck.

Can I ask please, how long after knowing about the Italia Conti recall did they give you a date for it? My DD has been told she's recalled but is still waiting to hear of a date. And also, what was the recall like? I've heard mixed reports 3rd hand about it and not sure what to expect. Thank you!

She received the recall date on the same email advising her she’d been successful at first stage (self tapes). However, two of her friends were advised of a recall but haven’t received a date yet. One girl at her audition yesterday mentioned her friend was recalled for an April date which seems ages away!
The recall was around 6 hours. Singing, monologue and interview. Then there were three dance classes. All really well organised and very professional. As I said earlier, the panel were lovely.

Hope that helps.

Thank you. April does seem a long time away. We'll double check the spam folder and consider emailing.

My daughter doesn't have a recall date yet either, I seem to remember someone saying that they were going to recall people at the new site from now on, maybe that's why and they haven't sorted dates yet? My dd only applied for foundation though so that might be different.

The singing and acting was at a church hall in Woking and then they went across the road to the local theatre for the dance part. Appare

Thanks that's really helpful, did they say anything about being certain that the site would be ready in September at the recall? I wish your dd lots of luck!!

They didn’t mention it but my husband had a peak at the site and said it’s still very much under construction. Fingers crossed it will be ready as it looks fab! Also, I forgot to say. They were 40 there, split into 2 groups of 20. Hopefully you will hear very soon!

Heh Lawn, can I clarify, if your UCAS is full and sent and you are already in the process of auditioning, can you add more through CUKAS? Am I understanding correctly? My DD has done all of this so I’m not clued up at all, and it would be good to know she can add some extras?

Query about GSA.

Not sure if anyone can help but I keep hearing the GSA are cutting their intake this year for MT to approx 20 students as opposed to 36/38. Is this a fact and has anyone got any idea why? It doesn’t make sense to me and would like some insights.

We are still waiting to hear about recalls and figure it’s going to be a casting issue. With so few students they are going to have to be careful on voice ranges - can’t have 10 soprano’s and 10 tenor’s. Too much time to think!!!!

Exactly the same for dd.she said they spoke a lot about the diploma hence my question on do they offer a degree Ona waiting list ? She was surprised about GSA recall as so few students next year.

Yes that’s correct. We went to the talk and they said 20. We are also waiting for news and it’s been 7 weeks now. Trying to put it to the back of our minds as it’s such a slim chance. So far we know of one with a recall that applied about the same time.
