They do a London showcase but in your experience, would agents be likely to go or do they stick to the more tried and tested ie the big 3 GSA, MV abd Arts? All thoughts welcome!!
Not sure about the MT course but my son auditioned for the BA Acting there a couple of weeks ago and absolutely loved it. The course, facilities and teaching team were fantastic. Just waiting to hear the result now - they’ve said they’ll let him know w/c April 4.

Thanks Redwire, we’re there Sat for an MT recall so looking forward to getting a feel of it. Did your DS hear much about how they get on with getting agents? Or is the acting degree fairly new too? The MT one first cohort graduates this year so it’s quite hard to know! But facilities look fantastic

The acting degree is relatively new too. It started either the same year as MT or the year before or after. DD was going to do a summer school there (though I can't remember which course it was) aimed at her then yr12, but that was the summer of 2020, so didn't go ahead.

He didn’t mention anything - but it is a new course. Only running for a couple of years I think. They do seem very proactive at getting their students into professional work (sometimes while they’re still studying) and counting that experience towards their studies. They said they are happy to flex the course around the individuals - a couple of the 2nd year students ended up in a professional stage show last year, and another second year (Acting this time I think) has just taken the lead in a TV show while still studying. Hope your MT recall goes well! 🤞🏻

Hope you are all doing well. I just wondered if anyone knew how many students they take each year at Wilkes?

DD's friend has just been offered a place on the degree at Wilkes and was told they are taking up to 120 this year. They said 700 applied :D

Does anyone know how many students are at GSA for actor muso starting this year? If anyone has a kit list of what they'll need that would be so helpful!

I don’t know I’m afraid but a friend of my son is most likely going to be starting there for actor/muso

Has anyone had any DADA or funding responses from Laines?
Anyone know when these go out? We were led to believe May, but hearing rumours people have just got them?

Yes I think it will be may, thats what we’ve heard and that’s when they’ve been always done it in the past. I can’t possibly see how they can start now as they still have one round of audition dates to go unless it’s to a small number of very talented applicants that they know they want irrespective of what happens in the next group of auditions. I know other colleges do this, but didn’t think Laine did.

Laine definitely have one more audition date, so I can’t imagine they would begin offering until they have see everyone.

Super pleased with an offer from Wilkes this morning for DD. Two down, three to go. Still waiting for GSA!

In your letter of acceptance you get
a place no DADA audition.
a place with DADA audition.
a place with DADA no other audition needed.
We had a place with DADA audition but didn't bother going as had offer from GSA
We know 2 boys who got the DADA no further audition needed.
That was 2 years ago so may have changed - as parents we are led to believe that DADA's are given out like sweeties, that definitely isn't the case.

So DD’s letter was offer with DaDA paperwork, plus letter saying being considered for funding, no mention of additional audition or when we hear more!

Yes as of last year they stopped doing the additional dada audition. They must score everyone based on their actual audition and then after the final round of auditions, start at the top of the list and keep going down until the money runs out!
