So it was another reserve list offer and a no from the last 2 Auditions so looks like we will be doing it all again next year. DC obviously disappointed but resilient and they don’t turn 18 till the end of Aug so a bit of youth on their side. Now what to do in the interim to be planned I guess.
Sorry to hear that @sailorgirluae. Which school/course is she on the reserve list for? My DD knows of someone who recently dropped out of a foundation as they had a late BA offer, so movement still happening.
Reserve for foundation at EDA and Conti and Actor Muso at Mountview.

Will definitely look at what NYT and NYMT have to offer to keep up her skills over the year.
I may have missed it, but did you hear about the Foundation GSA?

DD has a friend turn down Foundation EDA this weeks, so things are still moving.

I would agree that things are still moving at this time. 3 years ago my DD turned down a degree offer at what was then a lesser known school in favour of a foundation elsewhere at the beginning of August when they contacted her (we lost £500 deposit, so be careful of that one, thankfully we hadn't signed a tenancy agreement). A year after than she got 2 (funded) foundation offers and the second offer came on June 1st! Last year she had no offers, and hadn't heard back from 2 when at lunchtime on the very last day of her course, when she was doing 2 shows, an email came through offering her the place she is now at. She wasn't even aware she'd been wait listed! This happened the 2nd week in June! The 2 possible others came back later with rejections, so she was correct to accept. Only this week I know of someone who has confirmed their place at their drama school and since they had had several offers, it means movement will be at the places she's rejected.

I’m curious to know if your dd was told she would find out by a certain date from the school where she is at now. Mine was told she would hear by 16th of May, which is next Thursday. I’m really hoping it won’t drag and that she gets an answer, so she can accept her current offer if need be and start planning.

Fingers crossed she gets an offer from one of the reserve lists.

I don't think so. From memory she auditioned and they weren't told when they'd know by. She then received a rejection a few days after audition. Then over 2 months later received an offer via email. It came as a complete surprise! Is your DC happy to accept her current offer? The issue with accepting one thing and then changing their mind to a last minute offer elsewhere is any money you might lose as a deposit for first place and potential problems should you need to drop out of a tenancy agreement and any charges. I'm still so thankful that nothing had been signed re accommodation.

She would happily accept her current offer if she got rejected from RB. She’s also waiting on RCS, they didn’t say when she’ll hear by. I’m surprised they didn’t let your dd know she was put on reserve, that can make a whole lot of a difference to someone’s decision making! If dd was to get reserve for RB, she would probably hold on for as long as possible before accepting somewhere else. To be honest I just want her to get a yes or a no, I’m getting tired of being in limbo.

Aww that’s a shame, it’s brutal isn’t it. Hopefully something will come through. A year out isn’t a bad thing, DD did it, got some useful work experience, some, not all relating to performing. Did a couple of amateur productions and was far more successful this year. It also meant when she went to auditions she knew the process and felt a bit more confident in herself.

Keep us posted.

So dd got the news she was hoping for today, a BA Acting offer from Rose Bruford!!! She convinced herself she won’t get in as she hasn’t been contacted for an interview, so to say she’s excited is an understatement! 😃

Ah that’s great news! The hold out was worth the wait. Didn’t get offer from RB here, now holding out for Guildhall decision next week. The last hope. Hope your daughter has a fab time in Sidcup, now go get that accommodation sorted!
