Here is a lin to my daughter who was 12 at the time over a year ago now singing she has improved tremondously since range is now much bigger. Do people honestly think she is good enough to get an agent? Please be honest based on this performance? i havent been able to record anything else since?
advice please???

Hi Sam, welcome to NAPM. I enjoyed listening to that. She's got a lovely voice and a powerful one, which I would think useful when looking for professional work. I've never gone down the route of getting an agent for for my ds or dd so can't speak from experience but I'm not sure hearing her sing on this clip is actually the most crucial factor in knowing whether she can get an agent. Hi Sam, nice to have you on board. I'm quite new too and also have a 12 year old daughter who sings.
Firstly, does your dd have singing lessons? She has a very strong voice with good vibrato on the long notes. I noticed she clipped other phrases quite short, this can be sorted through technique. She also looks down a bit while singing - with a voice like that, she can hold her head high and look her audience in the face - these things are important when trying to impress a potential employer.
When my dd was 10 she entered 'festival4stars.' She had never had a lesson then, and she made a few mistakes, though I still think she did a great job The judges recommended we get her singing lessons, as they thought she had great potential, and though I had to start a second job to pay for them it was worth it - she entered this year and got to Regional Finals
Re agents - my dd has never really got any singing jobs through an agent, she has had plenty of auditions and found out about competitions through StarNow which costs just under £30 a year.
I wish her lots of luck, and I'm sure we'll be hearing more from her!

Definately worth a go at getting an agent. The experience of auditioning would be great anyway. Nothing ventured nothing gained. Two of my 3 children have agents, my 13 yr old ds and my 10 yr old dd. My eldest ds writes instead of performing. Be prepared though for loads of competition as there are so many 10-14 year old girls who love singing and want to apply for everything. Having said that both my children have had lots of successes including many tv/theatre/radio and promo-type appearances as well as numerous rejections during the two years we have been doing things professionally. Whatever happens it pays to keep your feet on the ground and just enjoy every opportunity. I have found that other parents and children are very helpful and friendly. We have made loads of new friends from our involvement and if later the kids decide not to carry on they will have lots of memories. Hope this helps.
