Recording from Sky+ HD to a recoradble DVD player

Have just had Sky+ HD instaled as my sky went wrong found it easy to record from normal Sky+ men that instaled it for me told me it was just the same, have recored some thing a friends kids are in and have tried to put it on to DVD disc have ruined the disc and can not work out how to do it old way was sky+ was on scart 2 DVD player was on scart 1 so just went to scart 1 then recorded show I wanted to record but Sky+ hd is attached to the HDMI 1 on tv so need HELP. I am sure some of u teck freaks on here will be able to help thanks

If you go to your planner along the bottom press the right arrow until you see a green button that says copy.
Press the green button.
Find the programme you want to copy and press select.
Press record on your DVD player then press select again on sky + HD remote.
It should then start copying.

I just want to copy a bit of the program what I used to do before when I wanted to just recored the part of the progrom my kids where in was let the recored program run then just recford the bit I wanted onto DVD player so much easer than having to edit thee hole program on pc but can not work how to do that now thanks
