Where do I find out about auditions?

Post by songanddance »

Hi everyone, I am so very new to this, and I feel very green, but my DD is determined to get herself a part in a West End musical. Can anyone give me any ideas where (other than on this site) I can find out where and when and which auditions are being held?
I'd be so grateful for your help [-o<

From time to time, the Stage carries ads, however, most get mopped up by semi-private auditions arranged through agents - Lots of the London schools have their own agency, and the producers can get their auditions filled with really good people at short notice, so often by the time any national stuff gets out, the places are filled. If you're not in town, then even if you find out, it's often all over! I've a friend in WWRU and it she confirmed it was via her agent.

Thanks. Not very encouraging news. We are not in town and although we are close enough to commute quickly, it's obviously not close enough to be in the loop... :(
