Buzzykidz Agency

Post by zanule »

Hi All,

well I started a search for an agent/agency for my dd. I have applied to a couple of ones suggested by helpful members on this forum. Have not heard anything yet so far. But it has been only a couple of days and it is bank holiday week, so I am not loosing my hope.
However, there was one agency which got back to me fairly quickly - Buzzykidz, part of Buzzy Agencies LTD. They are based in Bexleyheath and as they say "UK's largest children agency". Well that is all fine, but what worries me most is the quote below:

" What Next?

There are 2 ways of proceeding to join Bizzykidz now you have been accepted.

Option 1 – For those parents sure of their child’s ability in a studio environment

Make your payment of £140 by calling 08455 200400 ext 24 quoting reference BKJF, or online at http://www.bizzyagenciesltd.co.uk/bizzy ... ments.html then follow instructions. Then enter your receipt number on the Form (attached) and complete in full. This is not a representation fee, nor expected annually. It is a one-off payment for Directory inclusion only and will cover your child until they reach 18yrs with nothing more to pay.

Select 2 x headshots and 2 x full-length photos for your Directory Listing (see http://www.childmodelagency.co.uk for tips on how to take agency suitable photographs at home). Then attach both the Directory Detail Form and photos to an email and send to newfaces@bizzykidz.com

You have 60-days from the date of this offer to make payment. After this time you will need to re-apply. Please read our Terms attached before proceeding.

The Directory Detail form consists of 4 parts; Child Details, Performance Declaration, Parent Contact Details & Payment Declaration, all of which should be completed where possible. Under 4’s and newcomers to the industry don’t worry if you can’t complete parts of the Form, we will add to your CV during your time with the Agency.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Option 2 – With Model Shoot

Call our Studio on 08455 200 404 with ref: BKMSD if your child is over 4yrs

Make your booking fee of £25 over the phone using a Debit Card. Cancellations can be made if 48hrs notice is given. £55 should be paid at the Studio on the day.
The Studio will provide a selection of props to make your images fun and funky! Making this appointment would confirm your understanding and agreement to our Terms should you proceed. Full information will be provided with your booking confirmation. Hair should be kept natural and not be tied up if long.

After your sitting your images will be sent to you with instruction on how to complete the registration process. The full amount of £80 you would have paid for your Model Shoot and images will then be deducted from the £170 when proceeding to join. The Studio will forward your images to you along with you registration form and payment instructions after your appointment.

The full cost of joining WITH attending a Model Shoot prior to joining equates to £170; this will include all photography (with 4 images supplied to you). "

Please, please I need your suggestions, thoughts and ideas about this! I know you should not pay any upfront fees, but this is something I have never heard or experienced before! Is there anyone who is with this agency, or perharps dealt with them before?

Thank you in advance for your help! =D>

ON the positive side, my dd entered a talent competition run by Bizzykids in 2009 and it was well run and the lady in charge, Debbie, was very helpful and pleasant. They run 'model days' where your child can learn modelling skills, have a makover and learn some dancing.

However, I do not like the complex nature of their charges, obviously designed to make you go for the 'all in' charge of £170 including photos. Even if they only take this payment once, if they keep on taking people on, they are making money without having to work for it, I always think an agency works harder if they only make money when you work!

We are with Bizzykidz. Yes it's a lot of money but that is until they are 18, so no annual fees.
My youngest has had four really really good jobs with them in two years.
They seem to be very friendly and respond to quierys very fast.
I think we didn't go for the model option as that is usually for the kids that haven't done it before. It is also a chance for the agency to see your child.
Anyway feel free to PM me if you want any further information ;)

Hi I have no experience of this agency but for what its worth I wondered what your child had to do to be "Accepted" ?? whilst it's nice to hear positive feedback from Snookienoo, it is not clear if they have actually met your child? or did you just send photos? is this just for modelling?

I would personally steer clear of an agency which charges such a high upfront fee and also claims to be the biggest. Your child may end up being a small fish in a very big pond and all you'll have to show for it will be an empty bank account!

Sorry to be negative but it pays to do a bit a research.

I can help by telling you that they do modelling and acting. Youngest one just recently got a job for nick jr as a presenter.
They took my kids on with photos alone.
I can't tell you which is the best agency for you. It's not a small agency. My two other kids haven't had a job with them. (could be there age but they have had castings.)
Just wanted to say that they are a reputable agency. Check out their facebook page (babyshack/bizzykidz) and website.
Hope that helps.
But in my opinion I would enquire with a lot of agencies before making a decision.

Guys,
thank you for all your posts!
I think we will wait and hope to get some positive answers from other agencies, as I am not convinced 100%. Anyway we have 60 days to make up our mind. We will keep you posted in any case ;)
