theatre schools

i was hoping you very well informed napms could help! my ds is only 8 but as my older son is getting closer to secondary age i am starting to think about where my younger ds will go after primary school, i have heard of a few theatre arts schools, but was wondering if there were any others, the ones i have heard of are

laines

also i would good if any of you have any first hand knowledge of any of them or any advice!

First off - Laines are for 16+ only, so not for a while yet! And not knowing where you are based, then difficult to know where to suggest, as you would ideally need to be within striking distance. Tring has boarding (but puts up the price & they are v expensive to start with!), but dont think Redroofs do and SY's is limited.

Let me know which area would be best for you - my youngest dd has been at a theatre school since y6 (she's y9 now) but no point in giving you the lowdown if you are miles away! \:D/

Oh that's a shame - way too far from Barnet in Herts then! You could take a look at Arts Ed in Chiswick and Italia Conti's in town - they both start kids at 11. Arts Ed would be my first choice - know kids who have gone there at Secondary school age & are now doing really well.

Anyone know anything about the saturday school at arts ed? DD currently goes to SYTS but thinking maybe a change of scene plus they do exams. Any feedback welcome :D

Brit only starts at Y10.
