I have got my photoshoot on Tuesday to get some pictures to send off to my agent, Chilli Kids. I was wondering if you could perhaps suggest what kind of make-up I need to wear - I am 16. Obviously I need to keep it natural but as I don't wear much make-up usually I was just wondering if you could give me a few pointers.
Thank you!

Re: Make-up for photoshoot
If you don't wear much make-up usually, then it's a good idea to wear the same for the photo shoot! You don't really need any make-up at all for a head-shot, unless you really want to wear it, except possibly to take a bit of powder with you in case you get very hot and shiny. If you have very fair eye lashes and eyebrows then you might like to try a little brown mascara and eyebrow pencil. If you wake up and have an horrendous spot, you could put a bit of cover-up on it and some foundation to give you a bit more confidence for the shoot (many photographers will photoshop out or minimise temporary blemishes like that - though they definitely shouldn't be trying to change your appearance in any way).
Don't wear dark lipstick (no lipstick, or a tiny bit of natural lip gloss would be ok).
It's more important to get a good night's sleep, to drink plenty of water and to have clean hair (and to know how you want to wear your hair). I've never seen a casting photo/headshot where I've thought: "She would have been better wearing more make-up". I have quite often seen photos where I've cringed at the amount of eye-liner, or the Cruella de Vil lips or the enormous ear-rings or the jazzy patterned top or the tree growing out of the top of someone's head or the pose where they would appear to be holding their head on with their hand...
Try to look "through" the camera lens as if you are seeing a good friend on the other side. Think interesting thoughts! This should stop you getting a "rabbit in the headlights" glare.
Enjoy it!

Only thing I would say is make sure your skin is nice and fresh looking. Try exfoliating a few days before (two or so is good) and use a nice moisturiser. Keep it natural as said above if you don't wear makeup usually no need to do it now!

Thank you for all your help; it was a great help. I showed my mum what pg wrote and she was amazed at how helpful it was and how long it must have taken you to write it. Perhaps it will persuade her to join the forum.
I've just got back from the photoshoot and it went really well - can't wait to see the pictures now. Thank you again.
