I dont know a great deal about amateur shows but the one I do know about uses the proceeds from last years show to finance this years show - Is it their first show? What has happened to the proceeds of last years production? However, saying that, costs all round have rocketed - I bet their public liability insurance had doubled! A worrying thought for all amateur productions.

My dd has just performed in a local production of The Wizard of Oz. She rehearsed every Sunday afternoon and the occasional Tuesday evening over a five month period. All the costumes were provided by the company (local amateur) and we paid £35 subscription. I know this was good value but think that other groups in the area pay a similar amount. The money they make from the performances is put towards the following production I believe. Hope this helps a bit.
All new to me!
