Agents photos help!!

My Dc has been signed to a agent and they have asked me to get some head shots etc done, How many do you get done etc and should the be smiling or serious!! Help any advice would be great :)

Hi there

The photo should reflect the character of your dc. If your child is never seen without a smile, then smiling is good. If he/she is more serious/studious, then a photo that reflects this is good. The easiest thing to do is to get the photographer to capture a few different looks and then see which one seems "typical" of your child. Your agent may be keen to have a couple of different ones anyway so that they can submit whichever is more suitable for the role.

You can ask the agent how many copies they need - you don't tend to need as many these days as most submissions are done over the internet rather than by post, so it is less common to be asked for hard copies of photos. Ask them if they are happy to start off with a dozen or so and you can top them up as needed. I think my agent has only used 20 hard copies in a couple of years (though I have been submitted for hundreds of things).
