Drama classes
Hello! I wondered if you knew if it's possible to get an agent without going to a drama school like stagecoach or something? Or do you think it's best if they have classes to teach them before going to auditions? I'd really appreciate any guidance. Lost mummy here! xx

Re: Drama classes
I think that agencies will look for experience and want to know that you know what you're doing and you understand how acting works and how to take direction etc. So I think that mostly its good to have taken classes. Some do look for a sort of 'raw, natural talent' but even then people usually look for people who will know what they are doing I guess.
However, this might not be the case with everyone.
I would also say that doing classes has benefited me hugely, so I would definately recomend them. Doing classes helps you get a feel for what acting is like and there are performing opertunities, where as with out classes you don't hve so many of these oppertunities.
Hope this helped,

That's so much help! thanks so much. I think you're probably right, and classes are good for making friends etc - we've just moved to London so it would be nice for her to get to know people outside of school. I'm just a bit lost with all the agencies in London, there's so many and it's so hard to know who are reputable! xx

I'm glad I helped! If you have a look around NAPM there is loads of helpful advice about acting classes and agents, and you'll get some idea of what ones are reputable, and which ones ARN'T!
I'm sure you'll find a great class for your DD/DS.
