Abacus Agency

Post by soapywater »

Has anyone heard anything from Abacus Agency?
I sent a video audition in over a week ago and unsure when I'm likely to hear back.
It is a lengthy process with Abacus, would like to hear from them soon whether it be a yes or no.
Does anyone have any experience with Abacus or have heard anything from them recently.
I've heard that they haven't yet decided when they are going to hold the next auditions, but that is all I know really.
Any information regarding Abacus will be hugelyyyy appreciated. :D
Thanks

Abacus is a relatively small agency and they don't take kids on very often.

Flo is with them. It was many many months between the time when she sent off her CV and when they invited her to audition, so from our experience even if you don't hear soon you may hear eventually.

She has been with them for a few months now and the wait seems to have been worthwhile. They are very attentive, interested in what she wants to achieve and have sent her for a small number of good quality castings, which suits her just fine. She has just got her first callback through them, so we have all our extremities crossed :D

Hope this is helpful

That is extremely helpful thank you! And congratulations for the callback!! :D

Just wondering what part of the year they invited your littleon for an audition and did you have to do a video audition for them also?

Hope to hear from you soon and thanks again for the helpful feedback!

She auditioned at a workshop-style audition last summer (August I think). She didn't send a video audition, she wasn't asked for one and if they wanted to see her on camera I guess they could access examples of films that she has been involved in. I don't know whether they did or not, though.

Hope this helps - it sounds a bit vague to me and I was actually there!

Good luck to Flo!!

Soapy water 2 of my children are with Abacus and we like them very much. If you are a teen then they will want a video clip, then I am afraid it is a case of waiting!! Loads of luck x

Oh thank you very much for your reply!
Yes it is a waiting game isn't it, but I would just like to know when I should expect to hear from them so I can relax a little. haha
All they seem to have said is just that they haven't yet decided on any audition dates, which doesn't really answer my question.
Anyway, thank you very much for your reply, its good to know they are a well respected agency :)

Flo (who has a brain like a steel trap) tells me that her audition with Abacus was on 14 July.

Thanks for all your good wished for her recall. We are very excited! The script came through - its very funny  please send positive vibes in our general direction at about lunchtime today.

We heard from them on 7 July for an audition on 14 July. But I don't think you should read too much into that - I'm not sure it's an annual cycle.

Flo's recall was possibly the briefest on record - she thinks she was in there for a minute, I think she s being generous. So lets hope that 45 seconds is enough for her talent to shine through.b
