Temporary change of hair colour

Post by Livy2 »

Hi,

Can anyone advise me of how to change my DD's hair colour temporarily without using the hairdressers or hair dyes. She is naturally dark blonde and has had highlights in the past at the hairdressers. We did a home kit in January which turned her hair light ginger and thankfully the hairdressers solved it after a long afternoon on her last day of the Xmas holidays!

The problem is now she has a root growth of about two inches which she's not bothered about but she is playing the part of an indian girl in Peter Pan during the easter holidays and is the only blonde child. They are thinking of putting a wig on her but the dances today were so active I can't see it staying on and wondered if I could get a temporary spray on colour or if anyone has any other ideas, I would be very grateful :D

When my dd played Annie I bought a bright red spray from the Internet which washed out no problem. More recently she wanted black hair for a non- uniform day and I found a black spray on super drug. They do other colours too bug I can't remember what. She had a casting at short notice on the same day but it washed out no problem. (Although it made a mess of the shower!). It has a bit of a powdery feel when it's on but pretty good for a temporary option. :) My dd has dark blonde hair with natural highlights and it was fine.

With enough hairpins and a wig cap, maybe a wig could be made to stay on. The children playing Amanda Thripp and Eric wear wigs in Matilda - DS said he generally had 34 hairpins, but the wig never moved an inch.

be careful with coloured hairspray, my dd borrowed some pinky sparkly hair spray from a friend for a school disco and 3 weeks and many hair washes later large parts of her scalp are still a dark pink 8-[
