Is 3 hours too far to travel for an audition?

Post by Neesh5 »

Hi,

There is a very interesting project for TV, and is made with a very good company, but the audition is 3 hours away from where I live. I would be happy to travel there, and so would my mum :D , but is 3 hours actually a lot for travelling to an audition, or should I just wait for local opportunities than going very far?

Thanks everyone! :)

Bit like how long is a peice of string that one :D :D
every one has their individual caps on distance I guess.

If you are both happy to travel to it,and thought about the travelling if you are successful, then why not?
and good luck \:D/

If it's for a professional paid TV job then you may find you have to travel that far quite often if you don't live in London. Or more jobs are now being cast in Manchester and Liverpool so if you live in London you may need to travel up there for an audition which could take three hours but for a CBBC project could be worth it! I wouldn't do it if it's not through an agent though or not for paid work.

Hi :)

Thanks everyone. Yes it is for a CBBC project. Just wanted to know, and hope that I wasn't going too far with the travelling to an audition :D

Depends on whether you really want it. We've travelled that far for an unpaid role that looked really good. Didn't get it but it was a nice day out, good experience and lots of fun.

We regularly travelled into Central London for auditions, which took 3 hours on the train/tube.
