Audition confusion......

Post by Livvyvicky »

Any thoughts anyone, I think I am about to lose the plot ( some might say that happened a while ago)

Dd was lucky enough to be given an audition in this half term for a project starting in the summer, but the time we were given clashed with a rehearsal for a production she is doing this half term. I emailed back and asked if here were any other times, we were offered another day which we couldn't do and then were given a slightly earlier time on the initial day which we accepted.

After much thought and deliberation ( costing of hiring a helicopter!) I realised we still couldn't do both no matter what we did. On Sunday I emailed and cancelled the audition as I felt we had to honour the commitment we had already made.

This morning I had an email from the production that is on in half term saying that as the children had worked so hard they are no longer needed at the rehearsal tomorrow and the whole day is now free........

The company holding the auditions have not replied confirming my cancellation ( presumably because i have come across as a complete lunatic) and I have since asked if we can still attend.

So..... What shall I do.........

Please help  ](*,)

perhaps you'll still receive a response to your email - but in the meantime, perhaps forward the same email to them writing that you can now attend - but better still, any chance you could get a phone number and give them a call to clarify everything. They will have received the email with the cancellation, they probably just haven't opened it yet, or not bothered replying. These things happen and juggling the timing of auditions and trying to avoid our dcs missing out on anything is difficult, but all you can do is let them know you can now attend and see what comes back, hopefully getting a confirmation too that they've received it and that's still ok. Good luck

Thank guys, I have emailed to say we now can attend so fingers crossed they will see that, in the meantime I will see if I can find a number.

My worry is if we do not hear anything at all do we just turn up and try our luck?

It might be worth going along for your allotted time as they will be there, I guess it depends how far it is and if you are willing to take a chance

Gosh, its so hard to juggle and get them to everything they want to do. I'd explain in an email and try to call them. I much prefer to speak down a phone to show them that I'm a genuine caring mum rather than a loony. You can't really portray feelings via a computer can you. (unless you use those funny smiley face symbols!)
Think I'd just turn up on the day if you haven't heard, and hope for the best.
Good luck [-o<

hmm - i wouldn't just 'turn up' unless you have confirmation for an actual audition slot - they have a timetable and it could result in disappointment and a wasted journey - hopefully you'll hear some good news over the forthcoming hours/days, which would be better scenario.

I'd try and call them - email often gets confusing and doesn't get the point across. Hope it works out for you.

Jut catching up with things after a busy few days - gosh, this is a roller-coaster of a thread!

Good luck with the audition. If there is such a thing as fate, it's working in her favour, but not making your life easy

Looking forward to good news
