In January I left my old Agency and joined a new one - I won't say the name of my old Agency but you can probably guess who they are if I describe them - they are known for having something like 1000 children on their books!
Basically I left them because I did feel treated like a number amongst many and I really felt that my Agent didn't know who I was. However, I did get auditions quite regularly , but often I felt they were for jobs I wasn't really suitable for.
I was lucky enough to be accepted onto an Agency with a really good reputation and with few clients on their books, but in the 5 months I've been with them I haven't had a single audition. I'm of course not accusing them of not doing their job, I've had lots of contact with them and I'd like to think theyre submitting me for lots of jobs etc.
However, I am now sort of left thinking did I make the right choice to change agencies? I have been trying to tell myself that it is better to have only a few auditions for stuff I really am suited for than lots of auditions for things I'm not ..... but as I'm sure you can imagine it's hard when I so far have not had any auditions this year! I know it's not uncommon in the industry to go this long without any auditions, but having gone from having maybe one audition every month or two to none, I can't help wondering about all the auditions that I might of got if I had stayed with my other agency!
I would love to hear anyones thoughts!
