Agencies for 16 plus.

Post by amyfrancesduggan »

I'm looking for good agencies that take on 16 and overs. Preferably within the London area as most work is down that way. Currently on someone's books and I don't feel like they are doing me any justice. Just looking for advice/experiences with some great agents!

Thanks

Hi there

I think your best bet is to look through the forum and take on board all of the comments that have been made about looking for suitable agents. What works for one client won't work for another, so recommendations are fraught with difficulties. As long as you avoid the obvious pitfalls (only signing with someone who has met you/seen you perform and never paying any money up front) then I think you just need to do your own research and apply to those that seem good to you. Avoid those that take on huge numbers too.

A helpful book is Actors' Yearbook which gives a lot of useful advice as well as contact details for quite a number of agents. "Contacts" published by Spotlight lists agents but it doesn't give you any very useful information about them so you still need to research them.

Once you get in to the almost adult area then you are competing with huge numbers of actors so getting accepted on to someone's books can be easier said than done. It is not usually a case of you choosing an agent but of them choosing you.

What do you feel is the problem with your current agent?
