Top secret - Urdang fees

Post by lbm1e14 »

Hi ,

I'm new on here but am I the only one who feels that Urdang fees are a state secret? All the other establishments are fairly transparent and have a Fees page. Or am I missing something? Anyhow I've managed to see from the UCAS website, not Urdang's, that the BA fees are £12,000 but can't find the diploma fees anywhere. I found out on here, I think, that the Foundation year is £7,000. It really shouldn't be this difficult. Can anyone confirm the two fees I have found and let me know what the diploma fees are? Many thanks.

Thanks for the information. Much appreciated. On the hunt for Performers College diploma fees now :D The pre-voc fees are online but the dip fees are available on application! Why do they make it so hard. Surely they're not ashamed of them lol.

Performers fees are £13,500 give or take a £1

However there are lots of extras
Mandatory performance fee £85
Mandatory theatre fee - £181
Optional physio fee - £185
Mandatory t shirt - approx £20
Plus set uniform from a set dance shop - Leo's are £25 each

Hope useful

Again seems to be a secret but does anyone know how many BA places Urdang gives out? And on what basis? Not purely academic I think. DD of friend of ours got AAB at A level and got offered Diploma place.

My dd is in 2nd yr on BA at Urdang. There are about 60 in her year on degree and (I think) 90 on Diploma.

The offers for BA (Hons) vs Diploma are based solely on audition and interview, i.e. which course the panel thinks will be best suited for their strengths and ambitions. Any BA offer is then conditional on 200 ucas points.

When DS was auditioning they said the BA numbers were set by the university each year and that they were expecting around 60 places. If you apply for the degree they offer a confirmed diploma place first (if successful) and then you are invited to a second audition for the degree. They said they would take the ones who were the most triple threat candidates for the degree. My niece has been very lucky as she applied for the degree, didn't get a place, but got on the diploma course. She started earlier this month and then after a week they asked if any one wanted to still be considered again for the degree. They took names and then allowed a few of them to transfer. She is over the moon as she can now get the loan too!
